2016 is a special year for a multitude of reasons. We get to elect our 45th President of the United States or POTUS if you fancy. The Golden State Warriors are attempting to beat the 1995/1996 Chicago Bulls record of winning 72 games in a season and trying to win back to back NBA titles. Leonardo Dicaprio may finally win his Oscar, maybe. He should though, seriously. The Revenant was awesome and that bear scene was, well, it was intense to put it lightly. Also, it is Leap Year.
We all know that leap year only occurs once every four years, just like the Olympics & World Cup, except with less corruption. But do you know why every four years that we get an extra day? Some have called it time travel, techinally I guess they aren’t wrong. Some (Wikipedia), say that it is needed to keep the calendar year synchronized with the astronomical or seasonal year and that by inserting a day it can keep the calendar from drifting. They also say that since a fixed date in the Gregorian calendar normally advances one day of the week from one year to the next, the day of the week in a leap year will advance two days (from March onwards) due to the extra day added at the end of February (thus “leaping over” one of the days in the week).
That seems legit, moreso than time travel so we will go with it. But what we are really excited about is that we get a whole extra day this year. Since we have some extra time we want to make it count. How you ask? By trying new things and by new things we mean the best new Scottsdale restaurants. Come on, we are Scottsdale Restaurants for a reason. So here are some of the relatively new Scottsdale restaurants that you should definitely leap on over to and check out with all that extra time that an extra day affords you. Let’s get froggy!
