Oh, say can you see by the dawn’s early light
What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes and bright stars thru the perilous fight,
O’er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming?
And the rocket’s red glare, the bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there.
Oh, say does that starspangled banner yet wave
O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave?
If those lyrics don’t put a smile on your face, I don’t know what will. With 4th of July, our Independence Day upon us it got me thing about America and some of the things I love about it. Thinking about freedom. Thinking about all of the people who fought to give us that freedom. Thinking about apple pie. Thinking about Will Smith, Jeff Goldblum and Bill Paxton err I mean Bill Pullman. Thinking about backyard barbecues with friends and family. Thinking about everything that makes the U.S. of A great. But mainly, I am thinking about a nice big old steak because let’s be honest, what is more American than a nice cut of beef? I know, I know, not everyone eats meat, and that is fine. But this particular article is for those that enjoy a nice New York Strip, a thick Prime Rib or have enjoyed a blissful moment with a tender 12-ounce filet mignon.
Here is our list of some of the best steakhouses in Scottsdale. Please look over our list and then head out this 4th of July weekend to celebrate America and the Red White & Blue with a juicy, delicious piece red meat!
Cholla Prime Steakhouse & Lounge
What the people say: “We had a great dinner! It’s amazing how much food we got for a very reasonable price. The filet mignon was a four stars. Surprisingly there was no music background but the atmosphere was pleasant. The staff was kind and attentive. ” – Kathi Roan, “The food is so good will be back and bring friends and relatives!” – Paulette Schaefer, “Cholla is one of the best steak houses around, without a doubt ” – Gretta
What we say: Located in Casino Arizona just north of McKellips and east of the 101 freeway. Don’t let the location fool you, this is a fine-dining destination for every occasion. Due to the location it is a hidden gem in Scottsdale, and a definite must try. We recommend the New York Steak or get a little crazy and try the Elk Tenderloin.
What the people say: “My husband ordered the hangar steak that was excellent, and we tried a number of the complimentary sauces, but the chimichurri was by far the best- we even took some back to our hotel.” – Marcella Pedroni, “This restaurant has a great atmosphere, both indoors and out. Our food was excellent, prepared perfectly.” – TravelMacks, “Much better than you average hotel restaurant. Great steaks, well trained and friendly servers.” – JWatt28
What we say: Located in the JWMarriott Scottsdale Camelback just north of Lincoln and east of Tatum Boulevard. As the people say, this is not your average hotel restaurant. They serve up some of the best steaks in the Valley that are worth every penny.
These next two are located side by side in Old Town Scottsdale, but please do not that detract you from trying both of them at some point.
What the people say: “Ridiculously attentive service and the meat is delicious. They will really go out of their way to make sure you’re a happy customer.” – Matt Shapiro, “The best piece of steak I’ve ever had in my life. The deep dish corn bread and mashed potatoes are to die for.” – Troy Acroyear, “The cornbread is amazing! Some of the best prime rib I have ever had here.” – Tony Potts
What we say: Located in the Old Town Scottsdale just off of Scottsdale Road just north of 1st Street. Awesome, awesome, awesome steaks and if, for some reason, you want to lay off the red meat for a night. The Rotisserie Chicken is a must try as well.
What the people say: “The sirloin was also well prepared and tasty. The best part of the night though, was our server, Leopold. He was very knowledgeable, charming and accommodating. I highly recommend the Pink Pony.” – Jimmy, “Incredible steak!!!” – The Dude’s Clues, “The new owners/chef/staff are going a great job. Usually, new restaurants start off great then slide; this restaurant keeps getting better. The happy hour is awesome and just love the staff. Highly recommend.” – Tom McMaster
What we say: As we said, the Pink Pony is located right next to Bandera but please give them both a try. The Pink Pony is one of the old restaurants in Scottsdale and has been recently remodeled. But they have not lost their old school charm or their ability to make some of the finest steaks in Scottsdale.
A couple of additional Scottsdale restaurants that we want to mention are Mastro’s City Hall Steakhouse and The Capital Grille. Most people have heard of or been to both of these great steakhouses. But regardless we feel that they should be included in any list of the best steakhouses in Scottsdale.
Did we leave any of your favorite Scottsdale steakhouses off of our list? Please let us know in the comments below and enjoy your 4th of July!
