The mistletoe is hanging; the presents are (mostly) bought, and Christmas vacation is right around the corner. I am not talking about just another opportunity to watch the awesomely hilarious Chevy Chase movie (back when Chevy was funny).
I am talking about your actual Christmas vacation. Sure, you may not have an actual “vacation” planned. But everyone knows that the week leading up to Christmas day as well as the week between Christmas day and New Years is openly recognized as a sort of vacation. We know that not everyone celebrates Christmas. That is true. But everyone celebrates and takes advantage of the season in some way, and they all for sure recognize that those two weeks are sort of punted, workwise. You can shake your head at me, but you and I both know that the minimal about of work is getting done. It’s science.
Some people use Christmas vacation as an opportunity to take an actual vacation to somewhere tropic and hang on the beach. Some people leave the lovely state of Arizona to visit family somewhere cold. I am one of those people. The things we do for family, right?
However, there are a lot of people who stay put and have the family come here to enjoy the beautiful weather that is Scottsdale in December. Well, at least normally. Not sure what is going on with the extremely low temps this December. Nevertheless, you may not take time off of work but no chance that you are super productive that week while Bill in accounting is in Cabo, and Joan from shipping is visiting family in Chicago. No, you are surfing the internets looking for Christmas deals and deciding where you should take the family to eat on ScottsdaleRestaurants.com. <- See what I did there? But even though it may feel like a vacation you still have a mountain of a task at hand entertaining and feeding your family.
This article is for you. The person tasked with entertaining the out of town guests, with picking where everyone should go out to eat. We have your back, so no need to don’t fight the challenge; it’s all a part of Decemberitis. We told you last week about some great spots to take an extended lunch. This week, we are helping you embrace that Decemberitis even further by guiding you in your quest to entertain your friends and family. Trust me, the sooner you embrace it, the sooner you will be kicking back enjoying some great food, drinks (especially) and time with your family at a phenomenal Scottsdale restaurant.

In closing, I am going to leave you with the words of the great Clark W. Griswold: “We’re all in this together. This is a full-blown, four-alarm holiday emergency here. We’re gonna press on, and we’re gonna have the hap, hap, happiest Christmas since Bing Crosby tap-danced with Danny f-ing Kaye. And when Santa squeezes his fat white behind down that chimney tonight, he’s gonna find the jolliest bunch of a-holes this side of the nuthouse.” Enjoy and Merry Christmas!
