The Ak-Chin Indian Community runs Southern Dunes as a daily-fee course open to everyone. Schmidt-Curley Design built it with PGA Tour player Fred Couples in the style of Australia’s Sand Belt courses, on 320 acres that were once part of Ak-Chin’s original 1912 reservation.
A 2014 renovation made it more forgiving. Green fees include a shared cart.
