Scottsdale Country Club used to be Starfire Golf Club. Despite the name, it is open to the public. The club says it was founded in 1953, which makes it Scottsdale’s first golf club.

The 18-hole Roadrunner course is a par 70. Lawrence Hughes designed the original layout, and Arnold Palmer reworked it in the 1990s. There is also the Snake, a 12-hole short course by Forrest Richardson that takes under 90 minutes, plus a free 9-hole putting course called the Bandana.

The practice range has covered bays with TrackMan, and the Kostis Academy runs lessons there.
