The holiday season is here! That means Christmas music, holiday cheer, family time, holiday movies, shopping, gift giving, and most importantly treats! Treats could be gingerbread houses, cookies, fudge and various other sweets. But for me, the holiday season means tamales. Growing up, my best friend’s mom would always make my family a huge batch of tamales for the holidays. I would look forward to those tamales all year. Of course, I could probably have talked her into making them at other times of the year. But something about getting those tamales around the holidays made them special.
To this day, thinking of holiday season tamales brings me right back to my childhood and memories of complete joy as I dove into those holiday tamales with reckless abandon. Of course, life goes on, I grew up and have since moved away from my hometown. So sadly, I don’t get to actually enjoy those particular holiday tamales as much as I would like. However, that doesn’t stop me from every year trying to find the best tamales in the Valley. Some would say that it is my holiday tradition, along with listening to wayyyy too much Christmas music and watching Die Hard, the best Christmas movie ever.
That brings us to the point of this article. I have searched high, and I have searched low, and I do believe that I have found some of the best Holiday Tamales in Scottsdale. They can be found at Los Sombreros in Scottsdale. Their Holiday Tamales have brought me right back to my youth and trust; I still hit them bad boys with reckless abandon.
