Nestled in the heart of the Arizona desert, The Vig McDowell Mountain beckons with its captivating outdoor ambiance, delectable cuisine, and well-crafted drinks, making it a must-visit dining destination in Scottsdale.

Ambiance

The Vig McDowell Mountain offers a delightful outdoor patio surrounded by Arizona’s iconic boulders and lush desert foliage, making it the perfect spot to unwind after a scorching summer day. The atmosphere is lively and inviting, especially during Happy Hour on Fridays, when live music fills the air.

Food

My grilled Brussels sprouts and salmon salad was a delightful surprise. The lettuce was beautifully wilted, the veggies crisp, and the seasoning just right. Topped with scrumptious pecans and served with dressing on the side, it maintained its crispness perfectly.

The hot honey spicy chicken sandwich, whether on a bun or lettuce wrap, pleased the palate with moist chicken and a well-balanced blend of spice and sweetness. The eggy and moist bun only added to the delight.

The grilled hangar steak, enjoyed by some in our party, also earned its share of praise. As for the starters, the fried calamari and chips with guacamole were both tasty additions to our meal.

Drinks

The Vig McDowell Mountain boasts an impressive drink menu. During our visit, my husband savored a Huss Brewing Scottsdale blond ale, while I enjoyed a perfectly crafted margarita. The drinks hit the spot and paired wonderfully with our meal.

Pricing

The pricing here is reasonable, considering the quality and portion sizes. Starters range from $8 to $14, while mains range from $14 to $28. Happy Hour offers even better deals, making it an excellent time to visit.
