Downtown Chandler is a compact, walkable district around Arizona Avenue, Boston Street and Dr. A.J. Chandler Park, with the historic San Marcos resort at its center. It’s an easy evening out from the East Valley: park once, eat, and walk to a gallery, a show or a seasonal event.
We haven’t reviewed every restaurant on this list yet. We picked them using each restaurant’s own website and the district’s official directory, and on November 3, 2026 we confirmed that each one is open and posting current hours. Hours and menus change, so check the restaurant’s site before you go.
Hidden House is set in a 1939 cottage behind iron gates on Commonwealth Avenue, and it’s the downtown pick for an anniversary or a dressed-up dinner. Lunch and dinner are served from 11am Tuesday through Sunday, until 11pm on Fridays and Saturdays. It’s closed on Mondays.

Crust serves New York-style pizza and East Coast Italian food on San Marcos Place, across from the park. It opens at 11am every day and closes at 9pm Sunday through Thursday and 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays.

La Ristra serves authentic New Mexican cooking a block from Chandler Center for the Arts. It opens at 11am on weekdays and 10am on weekends.

DC Steakhouse is a modern but cozy steakhouse in the New Square development, open seven nights a week with dinner starting at 3pm. Santa stops by on select Friday and Saturday evenings in December (the 4th, 5th, 11th, 12th and 18th). If you park in the paid lot around New Square, the restaurant covers the first two hours. Just tell your server.

Over Easy has been making breakfast from scratch since 2008, and Chandler was one of its first neighborhoods. The downtown location is open daily from 6:30am to 2pm.

Also downtown: JINYA Ramen Bar at 130 S Arizona Ave, open daily from 11am to 10pm.
Downtown has several free public garages, including the Oregon Street garage (Oregon and Chicago streets), the Overstreet garage (Oregon and Buffalo streets) and the City Hall garage at 240 S Washington St. The lots around New Square are paid. See Downtown Chandler parking.
Over Easy is open daily from 6:30am, and on Saturdays the farmers market runs from 9am at Dr. A.J. Chandler Park.
Hidden House and DC Steakhouse are the two dressier picks.
