Ambiance: Elegant, and quiet enough that our whole table could talk and hear each other

On Halloween night, Jake and I decided kind of last minute to go out with some friends. We didn’t feel like dressing up, but we wanted to do something fun and go somewhere nice, so we ended up having dinner at Ocean Prime on High Street in Phoenix. We had a wonderful experience, and we all enjoyed our meals very much.
Jake ordered the 10-ounce filet mignon, and it came out beautiful, with a nice crust all around it. For sides we had the jalapeño au gratin potatoes and the bacon creamed spinach. I ordered the scallops with lobster risotto, and they were fantastic.
We also shared their house salad, and it was very good too. Our friend Gunnar ordered the New York steak with a blue cheese topping, which was excellent.
For dessert we shared their butter cake along with the ten-layer carrot cake. The carrot cake was fantastic, honestly one of the best carrot cakes we’ve had in a while.
Overall, this was an excellent dining experience. Our waiter was fantastic and attentive. It wasn’t loud in the restaurant, so we were all able to talk and hear each other, and that made it very nice. It’s an elegant place, and we would definitely go back for a special occasion. I give Ocean Prime 4.9 out of 5 stars.
