Vicinos is a smaller Italian restaurant on Frank Lloyd Wright, near Via Linda and Shea, and it’s become one of our regular spots. We go about once a month. It’s super clean, with a dining room and a pretty large bar area, and we’ve sat in both.
They’re known for Italian food, and the pizzas are really good. We’ve even had them delivered. Like most places we love, we tend to order a lot of the same things. One we absolutely love is the prosciutto bruschetta. It’s a different take, with prosciutto and fig jelly on soft bread instead of the usual crispy bread, and it makes a really good appetizer. They also have a happy hour that discounts a bunch of their appetizers.
We almost always get the orzo chicken salad and split it. It’s a pretty good size, topped with little crispy bacon pieces, and it’s really, really good. Between that and the bruschetta, we’re usually set. Our son loves their spicy shrimp pasta and orders it a lot.
Save room for the butter cake if you’re up for the extra calories. It’s really, really good, and it’s where I found out I like butter cake. The service is good too, and most meals run about $20 to $30 a person. I give Vicinos 4.71 out of 5 stars, and it’s a big reason we keep coming back.
