Most of our North Scottsdale dinners happen within a couple of miles of Thompson Peak Parkway. Between Market Street at DC Ranch on Pima Road and the cluster of restaurants along Hayden Road by Grayhawk, there’s enough variety up here for a date night, a slow weekend brunch or a quick Tuesday taco run. Every place below is one Sherrie and I have reviewed ourselves, and in late October 2026 we double-checked that each one is still open.
Hours and menus change, so it’s worth a quick look at the restaurant’s own site before you go. Our full review is linked for every spot.
Market Street is the outdoor shopping center at Pima Road and Thompson Peak Parkway. It’s the easiest place in the area to park once and choose between a few good dinners.
Pescada is where we go when we want to dress up a little. It’s a Mediterranean coastal seafood restaurant, and the Portuguese stew with Chilean sea bass, peppers, coconut milk and saffron rice is the dish we still talk about. It opens at 3pm, and the week has a rhythm to it: oyster night on Tuesdays and live Spanish guitar on the patio on Wednesdays. We gave it a 4.3. Read our Pescada review.

Calabrian and Sicilian cooking with house-made pasta, a stained glass window that throws color across the dining room, and a big patio. We’d go back for the Mista salad and the Bolognese lasagna. It opens every day at 11am, so it works just as well for lunch. Our rating was 4.3. Read our Vic & Ola’s review.

The most relaxed of the three. The wraparound patio with its fire pit is the reason to come, and the menu is made for sharing: the Margherita flatbread, Thai chicken lettuce wraps and the big pretzel with brie. It opens at 10am on weekends, and our brunch order is the Western omelet with crispy hash browns, plus the Nutella and banana crepe to split. We gave it a 4.0. Read our Living Room review.

If you remember Liberty Station at Market Street, that location has closed, so we’ve left it off this list.
A few minutes west, the restaurants along Hayden Road near Thompson Peak Parkway are where we go for something quicker and more casual.
Part fish market, part restaurant. The market opens at 10am and the kitchen at 11am, every day. Get the Green Chile Tuna Melt, a bowl of clam chowder, or oysters if you’re sharing, and grab a table on the patio. Our rating was 4.1. Read our Chula Seafood Grayhawk review.

Fresh, build-it-your-way Asian cooking in Hayden Peak Crossing. Ask for more or less heat and they’ll adjust. We liked the Orchid Ahi Tuna, the dumplings, the Kung Pao chicken with whole dried chilies and the Shanghai noodles. It’s open daily from 11am, and there’s a weekday Power Lunch from 11 to 3. We gave it a 4.2. Read our Ling’s Wok Shop review.
Where: 20511 N Hayden Rd, Suite 100.
Made-to-order street tacos, a salsa bar and a big taco salad at prices that don’t sting. It’s open every day from 11am to 2am, which makes it the late-night answer up here, and the daily happy hour runs from 4 to 8pm. Read our Juan Jaime’s review.

Pescada (seafood), Vic & Ola’s (Calabrian and Sicilian Italian) and The Living Room Wine Cafe & Lounge (casual, with a fire-pit patio).
Juan Jaime’s Tacos & Tequila on Hayden Road is open every day until 2am.
Vic & Ola’s, The Living Room, Chula Seafood Grayhawk, Pescada (that’s where the Wednesday guitar is) and Sophia’s Kitchen all have outdoor seating.
No. The DC Ranch location has closed.
